November 20, 2021 - Method: 62 degrees; Cab glass; pop and pour (through fine strainer)

    Look: medium tawny; cloudy

Nose: balsamic, sun dried tomato, hay, oregano, old soft leather, cherry/sour cherry

Palate: balsamic, sun dried tomato, tomato leaf, cherry, cherry licorice; long- finish of molasses, sour cherry, tomato leaf; slightly off dry (low- sweetness); medium+ body; medium- fine, grainy tannins, that accumulate in mouth a bit; medium acidity

Overall: Very impressed with this wine, especially considering how old it is. Definitely mature, but retains good, very integrated structure and long finish. Great mouthfeel and body, along with really interesting and pretty complex flavor profile. I feel a bit crazy, but I swear the wine came off as very slightly sweet, although I imagine I must have been associating one or more of the flavors with something sweet. I was between 92 and 93 points, but considering how old and interesting this is, I rounded up. Really great wine!

November 15, 2018 - VinoLaprisco Col d’Orcia Tasting (Hanos Eindhoven, NL): Second bottle. Cedary warmth, tannic grip, mature but retains its energy.

December 20, 2014 - On the nose this was over the top, old, walnuts and a certain stench of old worn cloth. On the palate a bit better with some cherry showing but flying of into the night after a second or two just to show a bitter walnut shell note. Quite long though, but not enjoyable at all. Maybe as a necrophile....
