August 19, 2017 - Rich fruits and a long finish. Still a bit tannic. Great with a steak but a bit too much by itself. Wait another year for our last bottle.

April 28, 2014 - nose: roasted nut mix and booze. ripe cassis and blueberry. spice.

palate: intense and still tight. there's juicy fruit (raspberry, cherry), great structure, very long textured spicy finish.

    i say 'age it!

April 3, 2014 - Just enough black tobacco twang and minerality to keep this Columbia Valley cab from being totally jammy. But still, all New World.

November 11, 2013 - Abundant aromas of cedar and cassis, with black cherry notes on the palate. Medium bodied, not much complexity, appropriately priced. Not too exciting, or maybe I am getting burned out on Cabs in gerneral. The Firehouse Red is more appealing to me.

May 4, 2013 - This had a dense, moderately fragrant bouquet of smoke, cassis, blackberry, cocoa, mocha, mint and spice aromas. The palate was dense, tannic and dry with flavors of char, cocoa, black currant, blackberry and spice…good tension…needs time to better integrate.

April 23, 2013 - This is a solid wine, but I think the "pros" got a little ahead of themselves on this one. Easy drinking with nice fruit with a mild plum and oak finish. Not a real deep cab, but a decent value.

March 15, 2013 - A Very Casual BYOB Evening: I found this nearly undrinkable, with over-the-top sweetness and little backbone. Others were more forgiving, though none found it inspiring. I'll revisit in a few years, but the undesired characteristics that put me off are not of the nature that one would expect time to cure.

February 2, 2013 - Big mother. At someone's suggestion, decanted for two hours. Could have used more. Notes of cassis and mine, with cream finish. Tightly wound and needs time.

January 26, 2013 - January in Walla Walla; 1/25/2013-1/27/2013 (Walla Walla, WA): One of the things I really like about Ron Coleman's winemaking philosophy is that he won't release a wine until it's ready to drink. This one is for sure, but it will also age nicely.

Tons of red fruit aroma with tobacco undercurrent. Supple, with mouth-filling flavors of dried cranberry, cherry, and oak.
