August 23, 2019 - At Hedonism Wines in London. Lovely and thick and unctuous and great peach and maybe a bit of fleshy honeydew or similar. The finish is the best part, just stays with you and continues to beguile. Love this one esp for the price.

August 17, 2019 - Brad Feels Like Cooking Dinner (Brad's Place, St. Paul, MN): Medium gold color. Small pour from 375ml. This was the class of a very fine flight of mixed dessert wines. Spice, pineapple, peach, tangerine, white flowers, great spice, lightly honeyed, medium plus body, seamless and long. Love this wine.

August 11, 2019 - Tasted alongside the 1997 vintage and came out best in a very high-quality comparison! Very rich and full compared to the slightly more restrained 1997. Absolutely beautiful to drink, but many years of life yet - perhaps worth waiting for even more complexity to develop?

July 18, 2019 - Prior bottle was one year ago and this wine is nothing short of stellar. Honey, pineapple, mango and floral notes on the nose. Nearly full bodied with orchard fruit upfront (especially peach), but then the tropical notes take over and wow! Massively rich, with tremendous depth and concentration and just a tropical paradise of pineapple, mango, passion fruit and honey. There's so much going on in the mid-body it feels expressive and yet densely packed at the same time. Along the lines of as good as this is now, there are still additional layers to be resolved. Excellent acidity, tart citrus notes and structural tannins ensure that this wine has a decade+ in front of it. Every year, I shake my head at how wonderful this wine truly is. Next bottle for me in July 2020 and with only two more bottles, probably time to buy some more while the price is still reasonable.

July 14, 2019 - For Bastille Day, popped and poured from a .375 ml, with dessert, at my favorite French bistro in DC, La Piquette. I can only hope that my single bottle of the '01 d'Yquem equals or surpasses the '01 Suduirant, but until then, this is definitely a "wow" wine. Just a gorgeous Sauternes, with tropical fruits and caramel, amazing nose.

July 7, 2019 - From a half bottle. Have been tasting this since '12; the best bottle yet. A wonderful balance between the sweet complex fruit and acidity. Ethereal nose, striking balance, seasoned fruit, a deft touch of wood, apricots, white flowers. Delicious.

June 22, 2019 - 4th Saturday group uptown tasting (M&R's): Notes of apricot, honey, papaya, pineapple and botrytis spice. Really terrific richness on the palate. Pineapple, tropical fruit and apricot syrup on the palate. Wonderful rich texture.

May 17, 2019 - Damn! With Roquefort and warm walnuts, very nearly perfect. Very sweet, yet so, so balanced. Tropical fruits (ultra ripe, slightly candied), with an acidic cut. A very strong showing.

May 16, 2019 - Beautiful golden color (turning more mature). Loads of ripe fruit on the nose but finally with some secondary character as well. Quince, apricot and creme brûlée leads to some dry extract, with golden raisin, almond, and verbena.

This is a powerful wine. I loved it while it was very young and equally now as it continues to evolve. I would stash these a few more years before opening
