September 22, 2019 - Uncharacteristic of most of the Rhys Santa Cruz Mountains pinots I've had, this had a strong nose of olives and blood, and was relatively dark and rich. There were some lifted elements of orange peel and fennel. Yet it almost read like something from Anderson Valley. Still delicious, but different.

September 18, 2019 - Only tasted on day 2. This came across a bit ripe. Red fruit, mushrooms, berries, and a bit of cheese notes on the nose. Nice mouthfeel with good acidity and more red fruit. Good finish. I don’t think this is a representative bottle. Was good nonetheless, but the nose seemed a bit off. I would rate the bottle ~91.

August 17, 2019 - Aromatic with orange peel, spice, and mineral notes. Nice fruit notes on the palate but maturing—not as primary as expected. Strong length on the finish. Seems like a drink or hold. Really enjoy the poise and elegance of the Alpine bottlings.

June 14, 2019 - Dark red color, very floral nose mixed with black fruits (currant, blackberry, cherry), dense black fruit, mineral, a bit of spice on palate, good level of acid, tannins are almost noticeable but the finish is long and very smooth. A very precise wine with many years ahead still we think. Served with veal marsala It was tasty too! Wine was decanted 90 minutes before dinner and improved steadily over 3 hours to the last drop.

May 2, 2019 - Cranberry essence with some tasty rhubarb notes in there as well.
Not big and syrupy like some RRV Pinots (which we like as well), but complex and somewhat understated which makes for a very interesting wine.
Drinking great today though I do suggest a 1-2 hour decant.
