June 14, 2019 - Dark red color, very floral nose mixed with black fruits (currant, blackberry, cherry), dense black fruit, mineral, a bit of spice on palate, good level of acid, tannins are almost noticeable but the finish is long and very smooth. A very precise wine with many years ahead still we think. Served with veal marsala It was tasty too! Wine was decanted 90 minutes before dinner and improved steadily over 3 hours to the last drop.

May 2, 2019 - Cranberry essence with some tasty rhubarb notes in there as well.
Not big and syrupy like some RRV Pinots (which we like as well), but complex and somewhat understated which makes for a very interesting wine.
Drinking great today though I do suggest a 1-2 hour decant.

April 15, 2019 - Perfume, red berry jam, seaweed and aged balsamic vinegar make for a big, complex wine. It's delicious right now, and I am not qualified to judge its aging potential, but if it holds it could end up being a profound and unique bottle.

March 1, 2019 - Two of us remarked that this just might be the best Rhys Alpine we've had. Serious dark fruit under layers of minerals. Wish it had just a touch more acid, because after a while it seemed a bit heavy. But it was really good.

January 13, 2019 - Best Rhys in memory. Super-expressive nose and deep, brambly palate. Fresh and focused but with impressive breadth and length. Still primary and dominated by sweet fruit, but boy is this nice.
