December 26, 2019 - Had taste at the Family Christmas celebration. A blockbuster with loads of cassis, dark currant, and cedar. A bit too much alcohol for my taste.

April 16, 2017 - A great effort by Chris Upchurch and the staff at Delille, year after year this wine just keeps on singing its song. On the nose beautifully ripe fruit, lighter spices, cinnamon, which continue on the palette. Medium bodied, and medium finish with a bit of menthol, and light oak notes, overall nice complexity and balance.

Served Double Blind this was the least expensive, and lowest scoring on CT of our 4 wines last night. My WOTN, and Group 5/8 WOTN Most of the group thought this wine was much younger then its actual age.

April 26, 2016 - Silken ambrosia in the mouth, this is as purely refined & integrated a wine that has ever crossed these lips. While the flavors may have subsided a wee bit, due to age -- proper storage should see these rocking the purity for a few more years. Still: why wait?

January 30, 2016 - This is a fantastic bottle of wine. It need a hour to open up and it was drinking at it's peak 4 hours after opening. Good fruit on open, but gains considerable weight over time. At hour 4, it had a velvety thick mouth feel with a long finish. Drinking very well right now, just give it time.

November 9, 2014 - Drank for our anniversary dinner. Decanted for 1 hour. Deep red color with a nose of red fruits and some sweetness. The wine has held up well over time. There are cherry and plum flavors mixed with a bit of cinnamon. Smooth silky finish. Drink up if holding.

April 12, 2014 - Nose: cinnamon, spice, lilacs, nice fruit, some secondary notes in the background. Enjoyable to sit and sniff.
Palate is smooth, full with nice fruit and good complexity. Finish was decently long and complete. Would buy again.

November 8, 2013 - Popped and poured into decanter. Drank immediately. Color was medium-dark, blood red with a tinge of brown on the edge. On the nose, Bold fruit and medium oak smells, aromas of sage, black licorice, caramel, blueberries and butterscotch. Dry, full-bodied, medium acidity and silky tannins. The alcohol has really cooled with age. If you own it, drink it now.

December 13, 2012 - Kinda pissed off about this one. Excited to open, but even after a two hour decant, nothing wrong with the wine, just...dammit, going through a closed phase fruit-wise. Not corked or tainted...everyone agreed...simply not a bad bottle...nothing wrong, just closed. Caramel and toffee from the wood showing, but really only hints of fruit. Hence, tasty, with beautifully smooth tannins and well-integrated wood and acidity and wonderful mouth feel. Unfortunately, not ready.
