April 10, 2018 - Good. Not particularly impressive. Maybe in decline.

July 12, 2014 - One of my favorite Sobon bottles that I've opened this year. Very zin like, fruit forward, great.

June 26, 2013 - Really nice! Very Zin-like. Cranberry, currant and anise on the nose with an interesting mineral backdrop; huge fruit and spice on the palette with a decent punch of alcohol but in a good way. Really well-made wine, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat; in fact, I will be!

UPDATE: Bought a few more bottles of this and last night (7/1) I accidentally left a couple of glasses in the decanter over night. While previously I didn't think this needed to breathe much, I have to say it was actually even better the next day after ALL that air exposure. A really distinct and intriguing anise/black licorice character came popping out after all that air. Based on this experience, I'll let my next bottle breathe an hour or two... figured I'd share the tip.

March 17, 2013 - - Medium forming legs and aromas of mint, black currant and alcohol. It's in total harmony and has flavours of black currant, black pepper and dusty with a medium/full body. Juicy texture with a long finish - Decant this excellent expression of Primitivo for at least 1-2 hours to blow off it's initial heat. Swirl, inhale and sip your way into a seriously expressive wine of exquisite balance and taste. This is a rare wine that is hedonistically superb and in total balance. Yet another Sobon triumph.
