June 7, 2022 - Caramel, toffee, hint of vanilla, raisins. Smooth texture with a well balanced finish the maturing in PX sherry cask shinning through at end.

Has to be one of my favorite rums. Ethereal. Just such a consistently good sipping rum. Case worthy. Just love the stuff. Loads of tropical fruit. So damn smooth. Yummers!
October 15, 2020 - It's been a little while since my last bottle. For some reason this bottle was a lot more subdued. Almost too smooth if that possible, and the taste profile was a little muted. Still delicious but did not blow me away like previous bottles.

September 4, 2019 - Cheeky try at the BA lounge LHR.
Tasted neat and then finished with a small twist of lime which actually gave it another dimension.
The neat tasting shows a smooth and soft rum, lots of depth but not heavy or confectionery. Caramel, nuts and soft coffee edge. Very good rum albeit not the most exiting offer from Zacapa.
November 29, 2018 - nose: butter scotch, wood varnish, caramel, vanilla extract
palate: touch of spice, brown sugar, ripe bananas
Thoroughly enjoyable pour.
February 11, 2018 - Great but a little spicy, medium sweet rather than overtly sugary as some runs can be. A sophisticated but not amazing effort - though it should be said this is the final pour of a hotel bottle (Princess Yaiza Lanzarote - thanks for the larger than measure pour). Wish I was as blown away as previous CT reviewer.
October 11, 2016 - It's that simple that this is the best rum I have ever drand. I have bought a bottle earlier and drank it By myself and also with friends and it has never let me down.

May 15, 2016 - Disclaimer (added May 4th, 2017): I discovered according to the Rum & Canadian Whisky Sugar Tests there is plenty of sugar added to this which now brings it down considerably. My original rating from before I knew that was 92. But for these reason I now unrecommend it.
Last drops from the same old bottle described in my previous TNs below. Sugars seem to have settled to the bottom, particularly sweet. Molasses and Kirsche/cherry on the nose, palate of cherry and caramel, all one whole and well balanced.

Nose of burnt sugar, butterscotch, nuts and vanilla. Smooth warming palate. Lovely.
