February 20, 2023 - This is a humble and clean wine, pure with a perfectly extracted sour cherry fruit. Over time this added more and more herbs and spice. Well-balanced with expansive acidity ¬and a palate that gains momentum from attack to finish. Drinks perfectly now and doesn’t need any decanting, but still has enough substance for years of bottle aging. Complexity and precision were limited at this stage.

January 14, 2023 - Jungsik: Decanted a couple of hours before pouring. Deep purple color with dark fruit on the floral nose and some stem, grassy notes on the nose. Benefited from even more air in the glass to open and integrate. Palate was full of black fruit and some minerality with just a touch of a clipped finish.

February 15, 2016 - [Grand Millesime's "The Gros Family Richebourg 1949-2012" Dinner at Circa Restaurant, Melbourne, Australia] Translucent medium deep crimson-purple. Black & red cherry bouquet with hints of wet stone, mineral, earth, fresh flowers, black raspberry, redcurrant, white pepper, sweet spices & subtle oak. Medium-plus bodied, intense, fairly concentrated, ethereal, fresh, juicy black & red fruits seamlessly coupled with modest silky tannins & moderate sappy extracts; seemingly lean & svelte with fine balancing acidity enhancing clarity and length. Long spicy & sleek finish. (92.5)

    April 24, 2015 - Perfect bottle. 750 ml.
Very young, transparent, pure, velvety colour. Quite bright for a Richebourg.
Lovely bouquet of wild strawberries, lingonberries, fennel, oak, and a hint of cinnamon, spice box, chocolate, cloves and pepper.
On the palate it is the acidity and minerality that shines. Brisk acidity with lots of energy and fine tuned, yet vibrating, mineral as my good friend says. Smooth sliky tannins, great balance, lovely concentration. This wine refresh your palate.

Blind I would never have guessed Richebourg. I would have gussed Les Amoureuses in Chambolle-Musigny.
To sum up this wine I will quote my good friend: "Impressive combo of weightless power and elegance."

July 24, 2013 - Weinkreis Reise - Burgund 2013; 7/20/2013-7/25/2013 (Vosne-Romanee): One of my best Pinots so far. Pure finesse with lots of red fruit, minerality and allready accessible. Should that worry you, no. It's simply great. Tasted at Ann Gross Guest House.
