October 7, 2017 - This is not my style at all. Very sweet, macerated cherries dominate, and the sensation of sweetness overpowers everything else. This is Pinot at its worst, IMHO. Oh what a surprise, I bought from Garagiste.
October 12, 2015 - Wonderful complexity. Good fruit with numerous flavors that keep you guessing. Slight earthiness. Still has enough structure to last several more years. Long finish.
June 18, 2015 - This is a travesty ... Pure strawberry jam ala Fleurie Beaujolais ... This poor Pinot Noir grape has been violated via manipulation ... Shame on you Evening lands!
November 12, 2014 - I expected more from a wine of this price. A bit of over ripe fruit. A bit of fizz makes me wonder about MLF in the bottle. Well, one bottle, it was a gift. I guess I did not loose much but I am not sure I will hunt down any of their other wines.
July 20, 2014 - Floods the mouth with intense, luscious, tart, currant and chocolate notes with a touch of granite. Will benefit from a few years in the cellar.
November 18, 2013 - Dark and rich with a nice bracing acidity upon opening. Cherry-strawberry, lavender both in the nose and glass. Fleshy, full bodied and aromatic with lots of fleeting hints of flavors and smells. Loved it with Black Bean Soup with Chorizo & Crispy Pork
April 7, 2013 - Inky purple. Mostly dark fruits on the nose, slight herbal tones follow. More dark blackberry on the palate, with a great “salinity”/minerality and fairly long finish. Noticeable tannin, but far from overbearing, and great acidity make this a truly mouth watering wine. A fantastic SRH offering.
April 18, 2012 - Like the Sta Rita Hills bottling, this is slightly on the cool-climate side in its aromas and flavors. A bit of peppery spice on the palate, and a touch of green. Quite good, very pretty wine. 89-90
