March 1, 2024 - Orangefarben. Reife Nase, weit entwickelt, nussige Noten, Walnuss dominiert, Aprikosenkompott, Feigen, Zimt.
December 10, 2023 - Blind-tasted after a superb series of Burgundian Chardonnay, there is a clear change in style with a very expressive nose typical of southern wine – frangipane, Catalan cream, and a hint of mushroom. The palate is quite warm and creamy, with acidity, but the alcohol is noticeable, very powerful. It needs a strong dish to accompany it. A bit tiring at this stage of the tasting.
September 29, 2022 - Pronounced nose intensity with notes of barley, wheat. High acidity. Long finish. Very complex and slight bitter on palate.
September 14, 2022 - A lovely wine and a new vintage for me with it. The nose is great and jumps out at you and does make you think it's going to be a bit sweet. For sure there's tons of honey and white fruits here but it's what honey would but without the sweetness and more just the essence of it. Drinking nicely. Long way to go.
July 22, 2022 - Strong butterscotch and honeycomb flavours dominate. Tannins are still very strong. Salty and oxidized notes. Complex effort, multi faceted although not a wine that can be easily understood or enjoyed.
July 2, 2022 - Wine seemed tight and inaccessible
June 20, 2022 - Apricot, honeycomb, and papaya in the rich Marsanne dominant nose. Improved and opened over 3 hours; if drinking near term, decant this for an hour. Rich, oily, penetrating mango custard, nutritional yeast, ample spice and acidity for the long haul. Impeccable balance , a powerhouse. Tonight, lacked only the dusty white minerality of the best of these. Perfect w wood grilled day boat scallops and mango/pineapple salsa.
June 26, 2021 - Rich ripe but slightly oxidised, two bottles tried from two different sources
June 6, 2021 - There’s nothing closed about this massive bomb. Viscous and exuberant. Very spicy, more than enough to cover the oak. The puckering acidity it needs to hold it together is fortunately there. Honeycomb, burnt pineapple and over-ripe apricot. I admire it greatly but it becomes overwhelming and we could not finish the bottle. Still, a great accompaniment to grilled chicken with a cayenne-spiked sauce.
September 7, 2020 - Gorgeous wine. The viscosity paired well with tartlettes of diver scallops. My wife's WOTN amid a big lineup.
