June 27, 2021 - This vintage should probably be consumed within the next year. Lost some of it's umph. But still very tasty. Blue fruit, red plum, notes of black cherry. What's missing is the earthy notes. Had with a Caribbean/Jerk marinaded smoked sirloin. With the fruits in the marinade it paired nicely but was not the star of the dinner.
November 10, 2019 - W some sausage polenta dish. Yummy and yummy combination. Notes would be consistent. Very good bottle that should be drunk now. Just good fruit and structure but nothing that will wow you if you were to wait 10 more years. Good example of the grape.
February 16, 2019 - W wildlife macaroni. Yummy combo. This wine came out of the bottle like ink. Very dark coloR. Good nose needed some time to open up but on palate this was very good as well. No need to wait, time has done this wine well but i think the freshness is kind of important and not sure it will stay around.
May 4, 2017 - It needed about an hour of decanting to open up. Nose was very earthy with predominantly pepper and cassis. Deep garnet in color, great body. Mellow finish.
September 26, 2014 - This is a well made wine that just isn't my thing
December 20, 2013 - Deep inky color. Concentrated rich dark fruit flavors with some spice emerging from the background. Complex with firm but not overpowering tannins with a medium finish. Drinking very nicely now but can hold for a few more years
March 23, 2013 - Delicious....mostly. Not perfect with steak and grilled broccoli, but damn..not bad.
December 31, 2012 - - Garnet color with medium forming legs - Really drinking well. Full bodied and dry but so nice.
December 14, 2012 - Very dark inky color. Nose filled with dark fruit. On the first taste, there is a burst of dark blackberry and cassis flavors with a hint of spice and cigar box. Full bodied with an acidity to it with a solid tannic backbone and a nice finish. This could age longer but enjoyable drinking now.
October 13, 2012 - Truly delicious. Nice inky blackness.
