July 4, 2016 - Just a nice non-Jeremy straightahead food forward Zinfandel. In a good place now, nice balance. Not an over-the-top Central Cal Zinfandel. Still has plenty of life it. Drink or hold for mid-term or longer?
May 2, 2016 - A very nice well balanced Zin on spice and fruit.
March 7, 2016 - This is a great Zin. However it really needs some time to open up. I just pop-n-pour and if you will allow it to decant for 60-90 minutes I think you would really enjoy the bottle of wine.
July 17, 2015 - A nice spicy zin, drinking better than the last bottle I had.
May 20, 2015 - Thought it was just a bit thin, some good spice but not much fruit. Could be the vintage?? Still a nice drinker, but just in the mid range for Zins!!
April 7, 2015 - Yep. I like this wine. One of the things I like the most about this zin is its balance. Great fruit flavors without being "jammy." Wish I had more!
July 30, 2014 - Day 1:
Closed. Rustic iron.
Day 3:
Opened up, but weak in nose. Overbaked coffee-like spiciness with some honey. Boiled-blackbean-like bite. Smooth, nice concentration, clean, but none of its taste elements are appetizing at all to me. Palate reminds me cheap spanish monastrell. Two thirds of the bottle was still unconsumed at the end of the day.
Day5:
Rounded but 14.7% alcohol became more noticeable. Bitter finish. Still weak nose. I don't think I can finish this bottle, though there is no technical flaw or fleaky oak. Simply not my glass of zin.
October 4, 2013 - Normally love this wine but tonight was just not feeling it. Maybe it was the meal that went with it but it just wasn't there
August 18, 2013 - despite paying above retail, bottle was better than expected......nice expression of Zin...enjoyed it.
May 1, 2013 - Very ripe, colour is med red with brown edge. Slight wild black fruit and caramel nose, hight alcohol (14.7). Fruit is not fresh, instead it is raisined and has mocha. Not my style.
