Community Tasting Notes 1

December 24, 2010 - A magnum of this was the main wine for Christmas Eve. Opened about 45 minutes before pouring, and then poured glasses for everyone about 15 minutes before sitting down. Aromas were restrained, which initially concerned me. The first taste though was quite fresh with bright plum flavors. This transitions into a nice earthy balance through the mid-palate. The finish was nearly devoid of tannins. I am glad I had a magnum because I suspect a 750ml bottle might be fading. Still have one more magnum to go, and will plan on having with friends in the first half of 2011.
