November 11, 2014 - A powerful and robust Pinot Noir. Vibrant floral notes with busy layers of ripe cherries, spice, earth and dry cedar all folding into a mouthful of complex flavors. Enjoyable.

April 12, 2014 - Just outstanding fruit and a beautifully crafted wine. Great red berry aromatics with savory undertones. Palate is just wonderful- smooth and silky. Just the right weight and heft. The fruit is perfect ripeness with a fresh and consistent delivery from beginning to end. Excellent bottle of wine!

January 1, 2014 - Incredible wine to start out the new year. I love the dark berries and rich fruit profile of this wine. Velvet in the mouth with nice complexity and length. Candied cherry with some spice flavors. Great texture.

June 3, 2013 - This wine opens with a nice cherry and red raspberry nose and moves to a palate that is very inviting that offers spice elements, blueberry, plum and a subtle earthy component. Medium in body and weight with a complex flavor profile. I thought I might be overreacting but both my fellow tasters/drinkers reacted with similar positive reactions.

March 25, 2013 - Initially wild grass and cheery on the nose but after a 2 hr decant the grass faded and an earthy cherry nose was followed by a rich mouth full of a beautiful balance of earth and fruit. Great finish and bright clear color.

February 24, 2013 - The 2010 version of the First Born did not "wow" me quite as much as the 2009, but the lineage is clear and the philosophy remains the same. Deep and dense color with plum and dark berries and hints of barrel on the nose. On the palate it is again highly extracted, smooth tannins that lend a velvety texture with flavors of berry, plum, asian spices. Drank this over three days and it evolved nicely from initial tasting a little "hot" to a mellower character that still had plenty of flavor and impact. Compared to the 2009, seems a little bit muddier in flavors without the clean finish of the previous vintage. Still, a wonderfully crafted wine and a winner for those looking for a bigger and bolder Pinot Noir.
