June 9, 2023 - Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a glass over 2 hours plus. Very nice Bordeaux nose to start, but it becomes much more muted over 30 minutes. Dark fruit, foret floor, creosote, cassis, blackberry, and black cherry on the nose. The palate shows the earth, wood and savory character, nice fruits that do seem to fade faster than expected; cassis, plum, black cherry, blackberry, a fairly soft texture and pliable tannins. 90+ to 91pts.

January 8, 2021 - Tasted great. Long finish, back fruit and vanilla notes. Subdued tannin. Better than expected.

November 11, 2020 - Pop and pour. Really drinking well right now. Agree that there’s not much more to get out of continued cellaring but it definitely has shelf life left.

November 6, 2020 - Drink now, in my opinion will not gain from more cellaring.
Ripe fruit with clear developed tertiary aromas on nose and palate. Black currant, black berries, somewhat dried, tea.

March 4, 2019 - Très fruité, fig, prune, avec des notes de cigar, et une concentration qui début sur le porto. Une bonne chaleur. Très satisfaisant dans la bouche.

January 4, 2019 - Had one a year ago from our cellar; now, only a few left. We WISH we had more- and this juice will hold up with more time in the woods.

What can we say that we didn't in our note from last winter... All fruit but not in an overly sweet way.

Open. Sip. Wait... This stuff just wows after an hour or so with air.

It IS a wonderfully rewarding blend! The fruit rides in clean, smooth, without any bite. It's smooth from pnp to hours after opening.

Balance all day, a rewardingly silky, lengthy finish.

Day two, it's singing. A lovely Super Tuscan indeed! Wish we had more to enjoy...

We'll hold off for another 12 months before the next one.

If you can find this 2009, get it.

September 8, 2018 - This is good. Lots of power. Tanins. Dark black'ish color. Nose of berries, leather, cigar box. Dark red/black berries. Will improve.

February 10, 2018 - Open. Sip. Wait... This stuff just wows after an hour or so with air.

The nose hints of earthy tones- leafy floors and such- we believe that's a direct result of the cab franc in the blend...

    But then...

It IS a blend, and the other varietals make their appearance and take over, in a wonderfully rewarding way! The fruit rides in clean, smooth, without tannin bite. It all comes across Italian, with a funky new world/old world hybrid profile, which just gets better & better throughout the evening.

Balance all day, a rewardingly silky, lengthy finish other vins wished they provided.

Interestingly, and just about the only "set-back" here, is, it lacks substantive complexity. While it drinks better with time and air, it seems a bit devoid of the layered palate. Fortunately it's so good as a clean juice, it does not need complexity to further-reward the taster, so we just keep pouring... As it is, it gets into the 90s.

After two hours out & open, it's singing. A lovely Super Tuscan indeed!

With 5 more in the cellar, we'll hold off for 12+ months before the next one, but we'll miss it during that time!!!

We fully expect a 2019 crack to hit mid 90s... Even if it doesn't quite get there, this vin offers a superb QPR for sure.
