January 7, 2021 - Rich and gently sweet. Great intensity . Nice red fruit profile with some minor drying tannins
Hit such higher than the price would suggest. Many years left

October 5, 2019 - Still holding up in a lovely way, see notes from 2018 which are still true.

August 21, 2019 - Slightly not as snappy a Rufina as in the past years. Probably over the hump -- But still delicious.

April 27, 2019 - When opend, cellarsmelly. Needed some air and time to clear up. Smell of mature Rufina with old oaky, almost barn-smell. Also some mature dark red treefruit. And some black mountainberry. (Krekling in Norwegian).
Taste of dark fruit with an edge of Little bitter Mountainberrys in ending and aftertaste. Would been good follower to roasted red meat, with its good bodied style. This wine has developed a lot to the drinkability with storing years in cellar. This was a gift from a good winefriend, now past away. Chears to him!

July 4, 2018 - A consistency over the years that still holds. A delicious Rufina with the same qualities as previously described.

May 29, 2018 - So at first I was not taken by this wine. PnP ... as it opened in the glass it became more floral and was wonderfully simple. Not over powering in any way but still I delighted in it's delicate simplicity. It is a "very good" wine.

April 30, 2017 - Another excellent bottle of this refined, "Rufina" house. Chianti perfume of dark cherries and leather. Juicy palate with excellent fruit/acid balance.

January 1, 2016 - Last tasted 17 Oct 2014 when I rated it 75. Back then it was thin, and the taste was dominated by sulfites. Since then, there has been a distinct improvement with modest aromas of red fruits that are replicated on the palate. Chianti Rufina can take 6 years to reach its best. I therefore probably suffered last time from poor end of the range in bottle to bottle variation combined with drinking it a couple of years too young. I still don't rate this Rufina as any better than "Good"; hence the score of 84. It makes an OK table wine. I can't see the scope for further development, but the wine probably has a few years of stable drinking life ahead.
