January 28, 2021 - A birthyear wine which continues to outperform expectations. Light ruby, almost transparent. Bricking on the edges. Toffee, oranges and some cherry on the nose. Balanced and medium-bodied, with coffee and candied fruits on the palate, and a long finish

November 23, 2018 - Wine was properly stored from purchase in 1970 until consumed.
Cork was rotted, 3/4 of the wine leaked out.
What remained was clear with an orange tint. Surprisingly, it had a good port bouquet and a taste closer to port than expected.
Not like it might have been, but surprisingly drinkable given the circumstances.

January 14, 2017 - VERY LITE COLOR, ORANGE.
    ELEGANT NOSE.
GOOD FRUIT ALCH BALANCE BUT FRUIT IS LESS THAN ALCH. IMPROVED WITH AIR.
    DELICATE, FEMININE, ELEGANT PERFUMED SYTLE.
    LENTHY COMPLEX FINISH.
OVERALL - WELL PRESERVED WITH GOOD BALANCE

March 17, 2016 - Tampa Spring Break (the abridged version); 3/17/2016-3/18/2016 (Various Tampa locations (Mise en Place, Ocean Prime, etc.)): It is funny that a 53 year old wine can be young, but this one was. Decanted for the entire dinner and still could have used some more time I think. The alcohol was a bit prevalent and didn't quite get time to blow off. Very young tasting and sweet. Good raisin flavors.

Good ruby colour with tawny hints - quite a wide rim; still vigorous belies its age, very impressive; nice development creeping in on the palate, finish a little dry now and alcohol starting to stand out. Still, minor criticisms of a very impressive bottle of old port.
