October 25, 2019 - Nice soft citrus and greenish notes in the nose. Very precise and sharp on the palate. Soft apricot, fresh cut green grass and ripe pear. Nice amount acidity, very good balanced. Some starting aging notes but all in all feels quite young. Drinks very good right now but can easily age another 10 years.

August 17, 2019 - Joined some of our football crowd to watch a half time of our team abroad on TV......, lost in the last minute, the GG increased its pace sip after sip, first really restrained showing, almost an off bottle, but....., this one only needed aeration, lots of air to breathe and then blossom, after nearly one hour when our football team already had lost, the Hermannshöhle showed its fully greatness, stonefruit, herbs from the fields, vulcanic hints, although the Hermannshöhle soil is more of black slate, complex, persistent with an in the finish superb energy, thought this should be drunk soon, no way, give this one a very decent decant or keep it in your cellar for at least 5(++) years, great showing overall, 93,94(+- +?)

June 8, 2019 - Nahe^3: 10 vintages of Halenberg, Hermannshöhle and Felseneck + X (@Private location, Frankfurt): *** brief note from an extensive tasting ***
    Glass: Gabriel Gold
Tasted blind. Bottle opened about 2-4h before, double decanted before serving.
Beautiful open nose, very elegant and airy. Good precision and rather cool for this warm vintage. Never broad or fat. Like all wines this evening a wonderful mineral core. Good pressure and tension. Approachable, but still young. Give it a few more years. 92-93+

June 2, 2019 - Eine nahezu perfekte Symbiose aus leicht tropischer Frucht, perfekt eingebundener Säure, der typischen Hermannshöhle-Mineralität, einem nicht zu vollen Körper und einer wunderschönen Würze. GG at it´s best!!! Jetzt und noch mindesten 5 , wahrscheinlich mehr Jahre auf diesem Niveau! Großer Wein!!!

May 18, 2019 - As I was sipping this wine during a movie at home, and was decomposing this lovely Riesling in my mind, trying to explain to myself why I still prefer the minerality and delineation of dry, white Burgundy, my wife suddenly said: “this is too sweet”, which brings it to the point really. This might be more about 2011 than about Hermannshoehle, but while very good, I would rate this even higher if it was drier and a touch more precise. Reductive upon opening, needs about 20 min in the open bottle. 93

(Dönnhoff Hermannshöhle Riesling Grosses Gewächs) ($69.00) The best since the legendary 2005, and the best dry Riesling I’ve yet tasted from Germany. Ridiculous delineation and spice; world-class doesn’t begin to describe it; intricacy, a kinetic mélange of dough, fruit, mineral; brilliant but effortless, a virtuoso playing within her ability a fiendishly difficult piece. Searching, endless finish. This I think is the result of Helmut’s larger holdings in the site – the ability to select with utmost care, and to make a being like this. +++
