December 5, 2021 - 50 years !!!! 1971 my year ! Not so very often in a winelovers life we re able to meet a wine that blows your mind. Not the highest score i ve ever given, but it was off the charts. No prime fruit, herbal nose, wet forest, all based on a dark berry carpet. Gave it a short decant and enjoyed over 3 h. Absolute balance between power and elegance. This has sonmuch to tell. Not tired ... this is mature and brilliant. Sure no upscale but easy 10 more years. Im going hunting !

September 19, 2019 - Dinner at Nico Osteria: In the past I've liked VCC but never really loved it, and this bottle might change things. Absolutely jawdropping with a phenomenal fragrance - so perfumed and exotic with bright florality and spice, and also more savoury Bordeaux earthy and cedary notes around a core of red fruit that's still very fresh and vibrant on the palate. The balance here is impeccable and I definitely need to get some more VCC in my cellar.

September 19, 2019 - Dinner at Nico Osteria (Chicago, IL): Now this, this is real Bordeaux -- none of that dirty Gruaud crap. The nose is intense and perfumed, with some coffee and cocoa elements. There's a bit of that Pomerol plumminess that I love here too. On the palate, this is silky and fully resolved. It's complex and dense, and while there isn't as much fresh fruit as I'd like, there's a sweetness coming from some of the dried fruit that I absolutely love. And on top of all that is that slightly woodsy, cedar flavour on the palate that adds even more complexity. I love VCC.

December 1, 2018 - What a beauty! With the texture of pure silky, the wine feels great as it enters your palate. But not before you take in all of its plum, cherry, cocoa, thyme, truffle and 100% cocoa. The patina of age paired with the luck of perfect provenance helped this bottle produce a sensuous, sexy, fully mature drinking experience.

June 17, 2017 - Drank it blindly side by side with Latour Pomerol 1971.
This wine has more structure and elegance. Not so sweet as the Latour Pomerol but more deepness, 95
