  July 31, 2016 - I was in the mood for a lighter bodied wine, though a bit sick of Pinot, so I broke out my second bottle of this. It's hitting the spot right now. Tame black fruit, some herbal & mineral notes. Nose is mostly nonexistent but like I said for now it's hitting the spot.

  August 29, 2015 - still lots of fruit and a bit of leather, but there is an off-putting bitterness in the back end. I don't see this as an age or storage issue. It just is fundamental to the wine. I don't expect that this will get better from here. I am using my remaining bottles for cooking. They will work well in that context as they did tonight when added to a heavy vegetable pasta sauce.

  May 11, 2015 - Getting worse, maybe not all the way to undrinkable, but clearly down from the last bottle. I continue to regret going on this set of six from Lot 18, not one of the wiser purchases.... [note that this was one of the worst 2nd nights that I've experienced for a wine -- probably down to 70 something on the 2nd night; the odor had gone foul and it tastes more like I'd imagine rubbing alcohol or gasoline would; probably means that the last bottle will simply be trashed, though I'll wait to open it before deciding for sure; really a shame, the Lot 18 write-up had been so positive about this wine]
