Very few bubbles
Pale straw color
Nose
A few minerals, nothing much else going on maybe a tiny hint of nuts
No yeasts
Taste
A good mouthful
Slightly sweet
A bit of nuttiness
Minerals dominate, very little fruit/apples
Not a lot of body, very little excitement
First, it showed very little acid, after a couple of sips it gets quite acidity;
Finish
Decent finish with some minerals; and some fruity acidity. However, minerals dominate the fruit palate and ends in some bitterness
Summary
Decent champagne, but lacks a body and no complexity; for £20 the Mumm is the better choice; or the more complex body of the Lecouvey -
belfast taxman wrote: 86 points
July 20, 2013 - Pleasant enough - a lighter style but fortunately not thin or over acidic - a decent alternative to the slightly more expensive grand marques of Champagne
