Community Tasting Notes 15

May 25, 2019 - From magnum. Over dinner, no formal notes. A bit of evolution in terms of colour. Expressive nose - plums, spices, cherry liqueur, dark chocolate. On the palate well balanced with good acidity and lots of ripe fruit. Unobtrusive tannins, good length. Delicious.

June 14, 2018 - Bordeaux right bank 1998 tasting. 16 wines including Petrus, Cheval Blanc and VCC (Copenhagen, Denmark): Difficult to describe this wine, but it felt a bit wrong but not faulty. It opens up a little, but still not a wine I am in love with. Had the elements though.

    November 9, 2016 - @Homer with the pies.

    Two hour decant
    Dark garnet, bricking, full bodied
Tons of leather, black fruit, cigar box, black licorice on the nose
Tastes like the nose, no tannin present, meaty, soft, medium plus finish
    High ABV, oak is present.

Much like it was two years ago, but i would drink now.
A nice wine. Enjoyed by Kava and all

    MAGA!

October 29, 2016 - Checking in on this bottle, as I last drank this a year ago. This wine hasn't evolved much in the past year. Plum, black cherry, lots of truffle, black pepper, licorice, and chocolate. Such purity and depth of fruit. Nice weight on the palate. Good structure, with tannins needing some softening. A seamless finish that really lingers on and on. A lovely wine that has a nice future ahead of it.

December 5, 2015 - Very impressed with this bottle tonight. Needed little air to show its stuff. This was a wine right on the edge of classic and modern. Had lots of fruit on the nose, with cherry, blackberry, and raspberry. Also noted brown spices, truffle, earth, and chocolate. Light on its feet and elegant, with no deficiencies noted in the mid-palate. Medium length finish, with good level of acidity. Some tannins left to be resolved. Very glad to have a case of this.
