October 9, 2023 - A nose of some muted fruit, garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Bordeaux blend, with blackberry, cassis, some spice, a bit past it’s prime, drink now. www.winelx.com

May 2, 2023 - This is not dissimilar to the 2011 grand vin in terms of its dark-fruited, slightly pencilly character, but the nose is less exuberant and the details less well-defined.

May 3, 2020 - In classic claret mode. Cassis, dark berries, dark cherries, dark choc, some leather. Tannins nice and soft, but short finish. Definitely better with time in the decanter. Drink it reasonably soon.

March 15, 2020 - Nose of cassis, tar, leather, tobacco with oak and a little vanilla too. There is a little green on the nose too. Palate has smooth tannins, still present but probably drinking at its best now. Nice acidity and flavours of black cherry, a little coffee, plum and oak too. Finish is a little light. It didn’t improve as it opened up!

October 7, 2018 - Not too shabby after 3 hour decant. Relatively dark purple and/or deep red appearance, forest berries with a little candied fruit on the nose. A little thin on the pallet with a zippy acidity arch I am not fond of, but has decent length. All in all a decent wine but not my cup of tea, needs better structure overall but particularly with regard to weight and mouthfeel. May fair better with a steak but not, as in my case, in front of TV. Won’t improve through aging and I would not get the 2011 Echo again.

November 12, 2017 - Tasted this at Crystal Wines' Vive La France - French Wine Sale.

Dark purple in colour with dark red fruits on the nose and palate. Restrained energy with the potential to perform better with some airing or aging; or both.

April 4, 2016 - the 2010 is certainly much more vibrant and drinkable. this one fell flat, even after a few hours, nothing opened. a pleasant wine but not worth the price. not much there.

February 15, 2016 - On the nose oak, dark fruit, a hint of cherries and spices. Quite glossy and pleasant. On the palate quite unbalanced - a little thin, astringent with drying tannins and a bitter finish. 85-87
