Community Tasting Notes 5

November 9, 2018 - Bought at auction. Nice fill. Cork in good shape with nice light, translucent color. Bright red berry notes with faint hints of wood spice and tobacco. Light body with medium concentration; flavor predominantly of bright red fruit (cranberry, pomegranates). Light sweetness on the finish with good acidity and light tannins. Medium finish.

Nice, light style of aged Napa cab in a fairly light year as shown in the bright red fruit flavors, concentration and finish. Classic style. I wish it had a little bit more depth and body, but can't complain too much. I'm probably giving it an extra point or two as a birth-year wine.

March 2, 2018 - What a wine! It is just so rich, intense, powerful, with a perfect amount of structure and well pitched acidity. The most shocking part is how little this bottle is showing its age. The wine is still very fresh and vibrant with lots of excitement. It probabily won't get better but it can easily plateau for longer.

May 18, 2014 - 5/14 Ruby red strong tannins fading fruit - still has life. 92 pts.

March 31, 2012 - Color is medium garnet with just a hint of brick on the edge. Very complex nose. It has vanilla/oak in a pleasant round way. Then you get some tar and chocolate and nice fruitiness of raspberry and dark cherry. Still enough tannin to make it lively but soft enough to be mouthwatering. For the age this is surprisingly young. I'm sorry this is my last bottle as it has held up really well.

January 31, 1999 - BRICK RED COLOR. BLACKBERRIES, BLACKCURRENT, CHOCOLATE, AND LICORICE IN THE NOSE. DEEP BERRY FRUIT IN THE FLAVOR. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
