April 13, 2024 - Delicious 5 April 24
July 29, 2022 - Nice wine, with some complexity.
April 10, 2021 - Good secondary and tertiary flavours of leather and tobacco. Acidity still good but not much fruit remaining and the alcohol at 14% is a bit dominant.
October 5, 2020 - Monday Night Football with a steak. This old school Bordeaux is Latakia tobacco and cedar great acid and tannin balance. Not a GD sign of wild cherry or vanilla. Lovely with steak, salad and roasted beets. Good timing for aging would not wait much longer.
February 1, 2020 - Dark deep taste of dried plums and cherry. Surprisingly smooth and not much tannins (or very soft tannins). Could be more complex and tart but still a nice finish.
November 15, 2019 - Near opaque
Great cassis fruit to the core, a graphite edge and Cab Franc perfume: deep, cool and dark.
Firm yet sort of creamy ripe; supple yet structured and intense. There is inkiness and glossy dark fruits.
Nicely balanced but wants some food.
November 12, 2019 - 14% vol
Deep, dense appearance with some bricking to the rim.
Some development on the nose – leafy elements, that cola-like Right Bank thing you get with bottle-age.
(I am struggling to taste/smell properly).
Mellow red fruits too.
Pretty broad and open, developed and showing some mulchy character. Ripe, coolness and a supple quality, good persistence and grainy tannins.
Universally positive comments from other tasters today.
September 22, 2019 - Very good performance of this boy. Smooth, soft, fruity but still with enough backbone. No hard tannins perceivable. I think at its peak.
July 25, 2019 - Cotes de Bordeaux Trip; 7/23/2019-7/27/2019: Nose of tart currants, complex notes of clove, graphite, scorched earth, violets. Suave and fresh on the palate, velvety yet solid tannins. Plums, tart currants, lovely vibrancy and freshness to the fruit, with subtle leaves, pepper and earth notes. Holding well, lots of time left ahead.
July 9, 2019 - Warm, unbalanced, simply not tasty. Too much bitters and some hard tannins at the back, seems tired - no finish, no depth
