June 15, 2023 - Very dark red. Reeks of blackberry jam. A little hot, dark berry fruit, cedar - quite intense but not so nuanced. Tannin is a little rough but not out of place and the acid is not obvious I think this wine is "burly".

July 24, 2021 - See 04/09/2020 for update. Amazing wine, not “uhmazing.”

April 9, 2020 - Dark cherry crimson opaque color with a slight band of peripheral brick orange in the glass. Nondescript primarily blue-black fruit aroma of five varietal component players along with an initial whiff of Summer soil and sweet oak in the nose.
Still concentrated flavors, Malbec nudging it’s way to the forefront, with acid more present than vestigial tannins. Without food it is more reminiscent of a mature Italian Super Tuscan (without the dried leather aspect) than a wine of high slope Napa California etiology.
More to follow with time in the glass and homemade pizza.
This excellently crafted wine provides a supple, silky mouthfeel throughout the front and mid palate with a lovely finish resplendent with a sweet slightly more plummy than boysenberry fruit laced with an additive hint of vanilla (60% new oak) and a kiss of supportive and non-detracting tannin. We are happy to have acquired a pair of these sophisticated beauties and hopefully anticipate this experience again.
Update: July 24, 2021-63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec, 9% Syrah, 7% Merlot, 1% (Seriously?), Petite Verdot, marvelous and even more wonderful than the last, and unfortunately “last” bottle of this creamy, sweet, luscious, decadent and transcendental wine that is as smooth as 1,000 year old Chinese silk. In Tom Ewell’s vernacular in the movie “The Seven Year Itch,”, “How do they do it?” If you are fortunate enough to have a bottle of this wine in your cellar, this is the time for you to experience the rapture of enophilic ectasty. Grilled hamburgers filled with Fontina cheese and homegrown Zucchini will provide a tasty pedestrian meal accompaniment, but this wine elevates any meal and the more silmplistic the meal the more the palate will be enabled to savor a wine that ranks in the top fifteen wines I have had the privilege to drink over the past 30 years. I am indeed a lucky pilgrim to have this gorgeous wine. I nominate the winemaker for sainthood.

November 4, 2017 - From half bottle. Kinda drying tannins with much extraction but not gooey. Might have worked better had it been.
