October 19, 2018 - Finally coming into its own. Much more open and evolved than the bottle I had a couple of years ago, but still has enough acid that I'd definitely categorize it as a wine to have with food. Beautiful with a ribeye.

March 14, 2017 - Excellent nose of fruit, coffee and chocolate, but too thin and unyielding in the mouth even with several hours of air. I'll wait a couple of years before opening my next bottle.

June 3, 2016 - Still youthful, no bricking at the edge. Beautiful, full, ripe nose of earl grey tea, dark red fruit, glycerin, and a high quality impression of French oak. Great balance here on the nose. On the palate the tannins are silky smooth and there's just the right hit of acid (that came out wrong). I keep going back to the bombastic nose. A real beauty but not much as far as anything tertiary yet. Open two hours now and the fruit is still precise and far from pruney. I would think the '03 Mernet has at least eight years of positive evolution to it. Wish I had one more. Drink by 2025.

December 5, 2015 - Agree largely w RickyT notes on flavor profile from earlier this year though I did not find the acid too high. At this point in time, I find it drinking quite well. Medium/med full bodied, deep flavors but not heavy or particularly plush. Just rich Merlot rolling into rounded CS with seedless integration and no fall off of fruit. Nicely done! Into peak drinking but it will be there 5+ years.
