April 30, 2019 - Best bottle (Restaurant Waldhorn, Kirchheim, Germany): Glass: Gabriel Standard
From Magnum. Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden color. Clean, medium intense nose with ripe, warm yellow fruit and wet stone.
On the palate quite typical for this vintage: round, balanced, but not as chubby as my last bottles. But also, a lively, racy and well-integrated acidity. Fine yellow fruit and some pineapple in the back. Some orange zests and nice bitter notes in the long finish. From Magnum still too young with a bright, shiny future. 92-93+
April 21, 2019 - It remains one of my favourite Hubackers. A little bit more body because of the warmer year 2011. Typical Keller nose with passionfruit/pineapple/exotic fruits. Great texture and length. Great combination of sweetness/acidity. Like the length! In a nice drinking window at the moment.
April 6, 2019 - Keller Hubacker vertical tasting 2006-2017 plus X (@Private location): Glass: Gabriel Gold
Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden color. Clean, medium intense nose with ripe, warm yellow fruit, some adhesive notes and candied pineapple.
On the palate quite typical for this vintage: round, balanced and a bit chubby body. But also, a lively, well integrated acidity. As the other wines with a beautiful mineral touch and a wonderful length. Drink now or within the next decade. 92+
March 21, 2019 - blind
As many 2011 Kellers they deliver at the moment. Some exotic fruits paired with salinity. balanced. 93-94
February 20, 2019 - Ein, vor allem in Anbetracht des Jahrgangs, nicht allzu voluminöser Hubacker. In meinen Augen jetzt voll im Trinkfenster! Keine Fehler, alles sitzt an der richtigen Stelle. Sehr lecker!! Den aktuellen Marktpreis würde ich aber keinesfalls bezahlen. 93-94 P
February 20, 2019 - Very juicY and yummy ! The big exotic fruit bowl with good acidity and backbone. Nice minerality and a bit of salt. Lovely !!! But the price ???
January 13, 2019 - Pop and pour. Light golden. Nose some petrol, waxy lime. Palate rich yet nice orangey citrus, stony minerality. Balanced acidity, fruity richness. Great depth but obviously great potential for the future as well. 94 pts
June 30, 2018 - Smelled of dusty old cupboard when I first opened it and the cork was rather dry and broke. So was rather worried about how the wine was going to perform. Double decanted and left in fridge for a few hours. The dust blew off pretty much and regained more fruit. Medium acidity. The alcohol shone through a wee bit which isn't what I'm looking for. Yellow ripe fruit. The wine's taste and texture is better than the nose for the first six and a half hours. The the fruit on the nose really comes into focus and gives a very nice overall experience. I'm usually floored by Keller's GG but this one didn't knock my socks off but hey not every bottle can.
March 30, 2018 - A stunningly well-made Riesling! This 2011 Hubacker GG reveals wonderful and elegant crisp and fresh citrus zest zest, freshly squeezed orange and the classical deep minerals. The minerals are really marching forward getting more and more expressive every time I taste this effort. The palate brings a close to perfect balance and a razor sharp acidity to the overall impression. Still, there is plenty of power and this effort, just all Kellers, manages to balance power and elegance in a sublime way. Really starting to hit its prime drinking window, this wine is truly enjoyable today but have many years to go if cellared properly.
March 22, 2018 - Medium yellow --- Nose vivid, fresh, grassy, some glue, citrus notes, minerals, some saltiness --- Palate fruity, watery, fantastic acidity, dried apples, some grapefruit, citrus fruit, some honey, some green notes --- Finishes pretty long on overall fruity impression, acidity flash back, minerals. Pure, crystal clear, focussed. A beauty.
