April 9, 2016 - The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. At the beginning it has a closed barnyard smell, probably because of the screw cap, then it smells like red currant, cranberry, cherry, black pepper, bell pepper and oregano, with a hint of coffee. It tastes like cranberry, red currant, raisin, cherry, pomegranate, oak, black pepper, coffee, tea, bell pepper, oregano and alcohol/hot. The body is light. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

December 21, 2014 - The wine is clear and bright with a medium ruby colour. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of red fruit (ripe strawberries, red currants), black fruit (dark cherries) and pungent spices (liquorice, black pepper). The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has medium(+) fine-grained tannins and a medium(+) alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and medium(+) intensity flavours of ed fruit (ripe strawberries, red currants), black fruit (dark cherries) and pungent spices (liquorice, black pepper). The finish is medium.

It is a good quality wine. It has a remarkable fruit concentration, but the finish could be longer. The tannins are well-balanced by the alcohol and the fruit concentration, however the wine could be more aromatically complex.

Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure to be kept for 1-2 years, albeit it is unlikely to develop more complexity.

June 24, 2014 - An OK choice at $5. There are a couple which are better at this price but the 2010 Jacob's Creek Shiraz Cab is much like many of the $7-10 bottles I've had. Let it breath for about an hour. A well integrated average wine.

October 16, 2013 - Don't know what I was expecting from this wine, but I see nothing to really recommend it apart from the price. It wasn't awful, and whilst it had a bit of Shiraz spice & body, and a fairly long finish, there was almost no real flavour on the palate.

Cheap wine doesn't have to be this dull.

August 25, 2013 - Pepper/licorice bite with a rounded array of fruit on the nose - primarily cherry and blueberry. Nice colour, not particularly syrupy. Decent balance of fruit and acidity. Crisp aftertaste with a little lingering dryness.

July 26, 2013 - Good for a grocery store wine. Flavors of cherry, dark fruits, a bit of earth. Thin to medium body, a bit of a finish. Would serve to company.

May 30, 2013 - From a small (187ml) bottle. Ripe, a bit confected dark fruit on the nose. Light to medium bodied, a bit thin and harsh, delivering some ripe and sweet dark fruit with peppery and liquorice notes. The alcohol seems to push through, giving it a slightly harsh touch. Overall, a mediocre to decent quaffer.

April 12, 2013 - Uninspiring .... Nothing to note other than price point of 4.99 a bottle. Wine is thin with some cherry notes and a short finish to boot

July 7, 2012 - Very good for a red wine from a family that usually prefers white. Not overly sweet or dry. Nice, bold flavor.
