August 11, 2019 - Undertones of blackfruits, tobacco, dried herbs, fragrant cedar and sweet spices on the subtle nose. Palate is more open with everything more upfront. Ripe fruits on a spicy and meaty medium bodied mid-palate with some chalky tannins at the end. This needs more time in the bottle for the tannins to soften. Hopefully the fruit holds. If you cannot wait, decant for at least 1 hour before drinking. Still, this wine has a touch too much tannins for me if you drink it on its own. It would probably do better to pair with a big steak. I recommend to drink this with hearty food.

January 20, 2017 - Eðalklúbbur, vínsmakk #1 vor 2017 (Marbakkabraut 12): Frekar ljóst á litinn. Í ilmi mátti finna rauð ber, tóbak, skógarbotn, jarðartóna og í lokin smá fjós. Í bragðinu var góður þroski, dökk ber, flott jafnvægi. Í lokin smá eikartónar. Eftir svolitla stund í glasinu kom fram smá biturleiki.

April 25, 2016 - Garnet-violet and opaque. Nose of crushed berries, spice and oak. Medium bodied but powerful. Pretty long finish and expect it to improve with a bit of lay down.

April 17, 2016 - MW Institute 2011 Bordeaux Tasting: Moss and violets, with mint chocolate as well. Palate is decent, though there is a lack of depth and while the structure is fine, it probably won't hold over the long term.

Good flavor concentration, slightly fecal and weedy with harsh tannins.

December 22, 2015 - Plum, some bitter fruit, clove, cinnamon nose. Spicy up front and smooth, rounded fruit. This is very good and will be singing in 6-10 years.

November 17, 2013 - Anabelle Cruse is on a roll at Chateau Corbin. In a very difficult year, the wine sports complex aromas of licorice, mint, leaves, oak and fresh red berries. Medium bodied, with soft, round textures and a forward personality, this well priced wine will be delicious on release.
