December 6, 2020 - Good wine. Big and juicy as expected with some nice funk on the back end.

January 6, 2019 - I am coming at this neutral as I am a little miffed. So Spring Mountain ripped out all of their syrah, viognier, chardonnay, and pinot noir over the last 8-10 years and head grafted on Bordeaux varietals (lets be honest, its 95% cabernet sauv.).

This is a $45 dollar bottle.

I am a member at Spring Mountain, have been for 10 or so years. What I liked most about them was that they offered very good quality syrah in an area that wasn't traditionally know for their syrah. Their pinot wasn't bad at the slightest, and I enjoyed it- knowing that there is better on the other side of the hill, but it was GOOD. Their chardonnay won them medals- yet they ripped it out. I liked that chardonnay, some years were meh, a bit over priced (I'll gift it) others were spot on.

    Now to my complaint.

I love their syrah. It's my favorite wine that they do.

They were charging me $74/bottle for this stuff at the winery, because they killed the line and could inflate the price.

    Did I buy any?

You bet your ass I did. And it's left me with a real sour taste in my mouth. Sping Mountain... I'll tell ya, one of these days I am going to cancel that membership, one of these days...

    Onto the wine:

It's fantastic. I love it, full bodied, fruity, earthy, kinda like a new world take on St Joseph. Very ageable (the early 2000's co-ferments are killer right now...). This is still a baby and has a lot of gas in the tank. Hold.
