December 1, 2023 - Still tasting great and holding up well !!
Perfect cork, easily removed. This Pinot Noir is nicely balanced. Light purple in the glass with medium clarity. Aromas and flavors of pomegranate and cranberry with a medium to long finish. Aged well, I still have one more of this vintage year in my cellar to verify this tasting note. Fruit from a fabled Santa Lucia vineyard with great winemaking by Sean Capiaux.

October 21, 2020 - Purchased 7 years ago, and forgotten about until now. At first this wine was a little bit unbalanced as it was waking up from its 10 year slumber. Had a fair amount of fruit notes on the front but the finish was very acidic. This blew off but took it probably a good 2-3 hours to do so completely. When it did, this wine was really quite nice. Lots of chalky black and purple fruit character. Medium to full bodied. Herbal middle and finish. There was a sweet plum and cranberry tart that hit the jowls just perfectly. Hint of a smoky character here on the finish. Really neat wine that is holding very well. I don't think this will appreciate much more in the bottle but if you are holding this wine I definitely think a fairly long decant is due when this wine is opened and consumed otherwise you will probably find that it is out of balance like I did. Patience will reward you.

January 18, 2016 - Wow this wine went through a complete metamorphasis in 45 minutes. Started off with a pleasant nose os deep fruit but was acidic, bitter, and sharp cherry on the tongue. Almost off-putting. However, over the next 45 it started to open beautifully. Notes mellowed out every 15 minutes until a balanced, mild dark fruit, cola, and slightly mild hint of eucalyptus took over. Nice wine.

March 1, 2014 - Pepper + a little bite. Should soften with age.
