March 30, 2015 - Very nice, somewhat aged Napa syrah. Subtle nose of black cherry and black licorice. On the palate more of the licorice comes out with some earthiness, crisp acidity and muted dark fruit. The tannins are nicely integrated and fine grained and the finish is of medium length.

November 20, 2011 - A lovely wine coming into its own after a decade. Softer tannins, mild fruit. Enjoyed with: eggplant parmigiana, and a "winter torte" (Chicken dark meat, chicken sausages, apricots and apples in a bread -crust pie). Not a fruit bomb. Would have enjoyed more fruit and complexity, but an usual touch to the earth.

February 23, 2008 - Excellent in every way. Served with beef stew that paired very well. Very rich and robust with fine finish.

October 14, 2007 - Decanted. A bit hard edged at first, but settled down after about 45 minutes. Nice fruit and spice. We enjoyed it.

September 7, 2007 - Hans Kruger Tasting: I always make a special effort to try the Double Gold awarded wine of the North of the Gate Wine Competition. This one has a lovely nose, with a touch of white pepper, and good fruit. A nice wine, but I'm not sure about the second gold. I think one might have been sufficient. 87-88

January 2, 2007 - Excellent representative Syrah, full bodied fruit with being a so-called "fruit-bomb." Distinct floral components, mainly rose and lilac complement very light hints of vanilla oak. Even though the bottle is still young, it is very approachable alone or paired with food.
