February 6, 2007 - WIML90-92? Tasted at an offline at Alan Wong's Pineapple Room on Oahu so no formal notes.

December 18, 2006 - Peter Luger Steak Dinner: Gorgeous nose with earth and meat. Hint of roses and strong, tarry fruits. Nice body with very supple tannins. Unveiled very deliberately with fruit preserves, spice and dried meats. Nice finish. Really well-developed, but not at all old. Delicious.

December 18, 2006 - An interesting assortment with Luger's steaks (Columbus, OH): Youthful truffle and rose petal notes with red Nebbiolo fruits. Medium-bodied and well textured with significant tannin remaining. Nice complexity with time. I could easily mistake this for a 1990, which makes me wonder how these were stored/bottled/reconditioned/etc.

October 22, 2006 - Ancient Piedmont Tasting (New York off-line): Nose of mushroom, cedar, and cherry. Lovely nose. On the palate, this is big, masculine and tannic. Great fruit. Notes of tar and leather. No way this is pure nebbiolo. A healthy does of aglianico would explain how this showed.

November 25, 2005 - At thanksgiving, with turkey. The wine is a very pale red color with significant amber on the rim. Sweet but rather simple; the nose isn't particularly expressive (mostly raisins) and on the palate the sweetness of the fruit remains even though much of the fruit itself seems to be gone now
