November 11, 2023 - A fine Mouvedre blend, just now beginning to dring well. With air, dark blue & black fruits with fleeting violets & old forest fire emerge from the glass. Tannins are fine & well integrated along with proper acid to focus the wine. More serious, and refined than 2012 Occultum Lapidem drunk same nite. Another 4-5 years may serve this wine well.

April 23, 2022 - Early- recommend decanting hour+. A little disjoint, as you might expect young, well made mouvedre to be. Rich & dark... suitable for red meats & stews. Better in years ahead, I'm sure.

November 16, 2020 - Medium ruby with moderate bricking - quite beautiful to look at
Aromas a bit muted initially - red and black cherry with a little raisination
Palate was more intense - lush, sweet red and black fruit
Medium tannins and medium acidity with alcohol a touch on the high side and throwing this out of balance slightly
I would tend towards drinking this now as to me at least it appears to be fading a bit

September 2, 2020 - An outstanding Jumilla, punching far above its weight. Balanced floral with a sweet raspberry core, this has both weight and lightness to be appreciated. Stony undertones make for a clear, bright wine. Enjoy this now as it far exceeds the expectations of its price point.

March 27, 2020 - Not flawed but not doing much for me. It was initially interesting with a smoky gamy profile, but for the age tannin came across a bit sharp, then a steep dive on a somewhat "watery" finish. just generally out of balance.

September 8, 2019 - Ripe plum, strawberry and blueberry fruit with nice floral aromas. Drinking well now. Turning the corner to the raisiny character.

March 6, 2019 - Dark ruby with mild clearing - appears unfiltered
Medium aromas of dusty raisinated cherry and smoke - medium oak influence
Sort of a cardboard aroma which does not blow off but doesn't appear corked otherwise
Medium(+) palate of sweet red fruit
Medium(+) acidity and great length with medium/medium(+) tannins
This is a nice representative but a little ripe/ raisinated in my opinion to be deemed a quality wine

Interesting to see my tasting notes and the difference I am now seeing with previous CT notes…Maybe an off bottle or just not my type of wine

    March 4, 2019 - Single blind tasting
Purple brown color with clear rim
Medium aromatics of dark prunes. Some oak and an issue with cardboard.
    Medium + acidity. Medium tannins
Palate of smoke, dark ripe fruits and chocolate.
Rounded mouth feel with reasonable finish.
I feel the nose created the lower score.

January 27, 2019 - Much improved over almost a year ago. Took about an hour to fully open up in the decanter and paired nicely with beef stew. A little thin on the mid-palate right now, which leads into a tannic, slightly hot finish. Still feels like it needs a little more sleep. Drink 2020-2024. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 91.
