September 2, 2017 - This Pinot exceeded its reputation! This is the best Kistler we have ever tasted. Cant wait to try the 2008 in the next few weeks. Deep, rich, ruby red in color with fast developing legs indicating less alcohol than expected from a CA Pinot. 14.1% on the bottle but seemed less. Fabulous nose with a bouquet of berries and a defined aroma of earthiness to set the stage. Mid palate was smooth as silk, no alcohol feedback, and a big, but balanced finish with only the slightest hint of any tannin's. Nuanced minerality along with a variety of slightly ripe fruit and rich flavor. Very complex and most pleasurable. Probably one of the best 3 Pinot's we have consumed in the last 5 years.

August 26, 2017 - In OCNJ with Joe, Wendy, Patty and Valerie. First red of the evening, bottles bought at release in my cellar since. Decanted for about 30 minutes prior, drank over an hour.

Dark(er), vibrant ruby color. Nose of black raspberry, cherry, floral notes, minerals. Palate showing dark berries, red and blue fruits, spice, violet/floral notes. Nice secondary notes and spice through the mid palate and finish. Tannins fined, long finish.

Fruit forward but still energetic and fresh. A little thicker than expected but pulls it off...drinking really well right now, I thought I may have left these too long but this was in a great spot on this evening. You have to be up for the Sonoma/CA style, our group loved it..

May 27, 2017 - 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Sue's): Double blind. Dark cherry and spice notes followed by violet, blue and red fruit. Lovely spice and cherry fruit on the palate. Excellent. Easy to pick out as Sonoma Coast pinot.

June 5, 2016 - More 07 domestic Pinot investigation. During my posting hiatus I drank thru the portfolio and liked them, so... No question I like this much better than the Rochioli SVDs recently tasted. And, my recollection is I like the Cuvee Catherine bottling more. Thick fruit, a little goopy, almost too much. Me thinks I've held these too long as well. Jane thought the wine collapsed after 30 minutes. I disagreed, and followed it in the glass over 4 hours. I'll check out the CC and Cuvee Natalie soon. Drink up.
