March 14, 2024 - Had high hopes for this wine. Opened 2 bottles within a week period, both were exactly the same; about 2-3 years past prime drinking window. Good balance, but fruit was seriously lacking. Would try again if it came winery direct.
January 12, 2023 - Just in the drinking window and it is drinking beautifully. Very smooth and not like a wimpy pinot that is water and crap. This is more cab like and a big wine.
December 9, 2022 - Vinminnen 12 BYOB
September 4, 2022 - Decanted for 2 hours after which it was initially a little plummy but after 3+ hours it finally fleshed out and was very tasty.
August 9, 2022 - Still just fabulous
April 28, 2022 - Dark red, nice dark berry nose upon opening, plenty of rich dark berry fruit, touch of acidity, medium weight, fairly long fruity finish. Alcohol still noticeable. Compared to the 2011 Occidental Vineyards version (same Steve Kistler) which we tried last week this 2007 was not nearly as smoothly balanced and sophisticated but still tasty with grilled pork rib chops.
March 4, 2022 - Wow, if a heat-treated, inferior grade, excessively aged Amarone is your thrill, stop right now. Otherwise, move along folks. Now that said, maybe a bad bottle? My storage is near impeccable.
OK, I've read the other notes. Bad bottle.
November 25, 2021 - NOTN
February 28, 2021 - I really enjoyed this wine when it was younger and richer. Still a fine wine, but on the way down. I guess my views are a little colored by the fact that i opened 2 of these tonight, and the other bottle had turned. I say, drink up.
January 1, 2021 - Outstanding rich wine. As lots of fruit and aged very well
