December 23, 2019 - Medium garnet color. Lovely nose of cherries, leather, forest floor, damp cellar. Elegant layers of pure, modestly tangy black cherry and blackberry fruit on the nicely-structured palate complicated by leather, strawberry, and earth. Persistent, freshening acidity and smoothed tannin leading to a longer finish of savory red fruit with echoes of leather and soft earth. Beautiful wine showing well in the midst of its drinking window.

January 20, 2017 - I mean, in all honesty, this is really terrific stuff. Drinking perfectly now. Purchased on release qnd stored in a cool cellar. Full and fruity, soft and velvety but with plenty of balance and acidity.

September 23, 2014 - This bottle was more severe than my memory and TN of a bottle opened in 2011. It was deeply coloured, robust and structured with plenty of tangy acidity but seemed to have lost roundness and be short of the mature complex charm which my previous TN indicated and was present in abundance in a recent entry level Fontodi '01.

March 19, 2013 - This is really a good Tuesday night spaghetti wine. Good cherry earth nose and palate. Medium body with mild tannin. Not so metallic like some of the others I've had. Age has been kind to this one. I think is was around $14 back in the day.

November 21, 2010 - Colour is still very bright deep red, no sign of aging. Modern Chianti nose of fresh dark red berries, mushrooms and forest floor, almost sappy. The palate is balanced, notable acidity - a great food wine and good length. Drinkable now but definitely will go few more years.
