March 10, 2019 - Served blind against 11 other top shelf 2010 Cabernet based wines from around the world and this was my favorite (group's #2 after Leoville Poyferre, my #4). Old world meets new wold. Dark rich dense blackberry aromas with coffee notes. A ripe velvety texture with deep pure dense dark fruit profile infused with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cocoa. Well integrated sweet tannin offers a very pretty frame and unusually long finish. So well made and offers tremendous hedonistic pleasure and elements to ponder. Long way to go with possible upside as just entering drinking window.

January 27, 2019 - Nice, this came across as more old world compared to the Schrader which is not surprising. Graceful and elegant with a 20 minute decant. Moderate tannin integration and a redwood note at the finish. Nice.

January 6, 2019 - QUIET LION and others have this spot on. Still young, after about an hour of decanting it turns over a melange of black and red fruit along with hints of mint chocolate and Harvey’s Bristol Cream. Super smooth and polished. The nose was somewhat reticent but offered an interesting evolution from stewed fruit to earth to bay leaf spice. What I thought particularly interesting was that while this is clearly a left bank styled wine/Cabernet dominated the polish and smoothness suggests hints of Pomerol (guess that is the Mouiex style?). 95-96+

July 24, 2018 - Decanted over cocktails and served. This is the first time I've opened a Dominus so young and no regrets. It's a delicious swirl of primary notes including chocolate, Chambourd, new leather, and a touch of soy sauce. Room for improvement with age.
