June 19, 2023 - Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion Tasting and Dinner (Winefield's Auctioneers, Amsterdam, NL): Intense but lively buttercup yellow, youthful green reflections; marvellous nose, fresh as a daisy, citrus and minerals, hints of cream and honey, touch of spicy depth; elegant and stylish palate, mature but completely upright, bright and still well integrated; hints of toasty oak on the finish, with ripe citrus fruit.

November 30, 2019 - Bordeaux and Smoked Long Bone Beef Rib Roast (Brandon and Kendall's, Mpls): Medium dark gold color; fully saturated cork. PNP, drank a glass over an hour plus. This was a very pretty bottle, mature and complicated nose of toffee, beeswax, lacquer, lemon, lemon peel, earth, and more subtle white flowers. The palate offers a melange of lemon confit, beeswax, lanolin, lacquer, minerals, golden fruits, and toffee. This is mature yet it maintains freshness and vibrancy. Very much a treat to drink.

December 16, 2017 - 85% Semillon, 14% Sauvignon and a touch of Muscadelle. Ageing: 50% new barrels for an average of 9-12 months and fined with egg whites. I have always opened this wine and let it sit in the bottle for at least 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours before enjoying.
Lemon, lime and peach scents with a little beeswax and/or honey without a trace of being oxidized. Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc make for a magic show to rival Houdini. This wine is balanced and as elegant and smooth as Frank Sinatra singing I could Have Danced All Night or making love to Laren Bacall. Not surprisingly a fabulous complement to fresh sushi with a rich nose and a long but tender finish.
This wine was amazing. It is the third bottle I have opened in three years. Sadly, my last one.

November 1, 2017 - Laville Haut Brion Blanc Dinner (Tocqueville): Reductive nose that is actually reminiscent of Montrachet. Lemon curd. Lovely smoke. Lemon pith and bright acid. The smoked beeswax is very unique. Fresh and bright. Pale gold in the glass. Highly complex and intriguing. Still some green apple high acid.

September 29, 2017 - Pretty, light and grapefruit. Just lacks little bit of intensity for next level.
