March 20, 2023 - Nose- Red fruits, tar, roses & truffles.
This was open from Tuesday get go & palate echoed the aromas & scents on the nose with medium grained tannins. As the evening went on it got more tannic, pithy, chalky, rustic & dense. I'm guessing this has more agebility to it.

March 11, 2023 - Murky cochineal red in color with a pronounced watery meniscus. A very shy and restrained bouquet but the little that was revealed includes matured red fruits, herbs and dried flowers, old chest of drawers, worn leather and lots of muddy earth and watery minerals. The palate is medium-bodied at best, very soft with good intensity that persisted throughout the various stages of the tasting experience, very bold, well-structured, and intense. It is relatively well-balance with a dynamic tension and interplay between the fruits, acidity and lively tannins which seems to intensify after 45 minutes of exposure to air, however, the alcoholic component seems to stick protrude just a bit too much especially as the temperature of the wine increases (but the again, 15% ABV is not so easy to hide). The flavor components include dark red cherries, ripe strawberries and other dark red and purple fruits, old worn leather, old wood, hint of gamey meat, dried flowers, and a very delicate yet highly notable impressions of wet rocks, gravel and mineral-inflected alluvial soil towards a refreshingly clean and tannic yet slightly savory finish, A very interesting wine with a very controlled yet deep personality. Drinking at its prime now at 16 years old but should continue to do so for at least 4 - 6 years or so. Paired nicely with aged Pecorino Sordo and warm crusty bread. Day 2: Tasted much more integrated while the alcoholic components have subsided substantially, with tertiary characters such as hints of mild coriander and dried rose petals was discernible tonight, how cool is that?! It’s very interesting that the initial murkiness upon gave way to a clear wine with virtually no tannic sedimentation whatsoever either in the form of particulate suspensions or on the bottom of the bottle. 92 - 94

July 13, 2019 - One hour decent- beautiful wine that is about a decade away from its prime. Still quite enjoyable today but would recommend a 3 hour decant

October 18, 2015 - This is coming into its drinking window. Not a traditional style Barolo. Very lovely fruit, and the complexity is starting to show. Beautiful balance. Drink over the next 10 to 15 years.
