  December 2, 2012 - Popped and poured. Medium purple/ruby hue. Intense, earth-laden aromas of red fruits, string bean, coffee grounds, and minerals. Medium body. On the palate, the bistro-styled red shows an initial wave of earth...like literal fresh soil. With further aeration, a touch of tart cherry also appears to compliment the ever present herbaceous. Moderate-plus to plus acidity and chalky tannins on the moderate close. Kind of like Chinon blended with Moulin-à-Vent from a more traditional-styled vintage.
  This could use short term cellaring, give it 6 to 8 months and enjoy over the next 2-4 years. Perfect wine to pair with a light meal.

  August 17, 2012 - A lightweight vin-de-soif from a heavyweight grape like malbec - charming & interesting. Though very bright, pure and fresh there's also surprisingly good dry matter and some serious minerality. An evening spent with this unassuming red is a good one indeed. Goes well with cheese. Definitely moreish!
