March 9, 2024 - Tasted alongside the 2009 vintage of the same wine - what a treat.
As expected, very pretty red fruits with hints of spice and a sense of minerality. At 14 years of age, the fruit is starting to lean towards dried versions, but overall the wine still comes off as very fresh, and especially compared to the 2009, where the fruit was more dried/cooked (riper vintage?)2 people found this helpful Comment -

December 17, 2023 - Comprehensive Tenuta delle Terre Nere (Chicago, IL): Not a great showing; again dried out with desiccated fruit and lacking in any vivacity. A bit of a shame, given high expectations for this tête de cuvée.

August 19, 2023 - A great showing for this bottle - vibrant aromas jump from The glass with beautiful mix of light red fruits and spice notes. Smooth, silky, but with a good acid backbone that helped the fruit sustain. Long finish and provided several hours of development. Couldn’t drink it slow or fast enough! In a great spot for me with a mix of primary and secondary characteristics. Very happy to have tasted this.

December 5, 2022 - Savages Dinner (67 Pall Mall, London): A wine that reads like a classic story but for us on this occasion did not deliver to the level of the hype.
Big wine but also very spicy, funky in a way with lots of brightness on the fruit and almost had the feel that it was overdone and a lot more jammy than it should be and lacked the elegance we were hopping to see from 140yr old vines. 90 and peplexed3 people found this helpful Comment
