    April 13, 2023 - Cherry, ash, green pepper, and some muskiness on the nose. Heavy tannins and very dry. A little bit of overripe fruit. Decanted for an hour, decent amount of sediment. Tried again the next day and it was better.

    November 24, 2022 - This is past its time. Opened a bottle before the thanksgiving feast begins. It’s quite closed with little to no fruit. Will keep it open for a couple of hours and see if it changes, but for now, probably best for me to open the other half a case left ASAP. Wonder how the 2010’s are doing?!?

    August 28, 2022 - Robe cerise avec des reflets brunâtres;
    Splendide nez, principalement sur l'anis, les herbes séchées, les épices douces & une petit qqchose de plan de tomate (subtil & en arrière plan). Le bouquet est harmonieux. Une touche florale complète le bouquet qui est tout en élégance.
    La bouche est en ligne avec le nez, les notes d'anis sont présentes du début à la fin, le fruité est présent mais plus en retrait, bien entrmêlé avec des notes de poussières de roches & de tabac. Les tannins sont encore nombreux mais avec cette impression poudreuse, L'acidité est encore bien présente & supporte toujours bien l'ensemble, belle amertume agréable en fin de bouche. Belle finale sur les épices. Encore fort jeune pour ces 14 ans!

    June 16, 2022 - Old world Brunello style with notes of mushroom, earth and dried cherry. At its outer edge drinking window…if you have this wine…drink up now!

    November 8, 2021 - Faded/shut down a little bit after a few hours, but for a while, this seemed like it was right around its sweet spot. Tobacco, leather, dried cherries, a little bit of bay leaf, hints of oak. Leans a little modern--fuller bodied, lower acid, but it's very nicely balanced. Still plenty of structure, but based on this bottle, I'd say drink up.

    November 12, 2020 - How is that a 12-year-old wine can still be a stunner? Enjoyed this one after a night of Santa Cruz Mountains wines that were excellent but young. This one KILLED.
