Community Tasting Notes 9

June 16, 2018 - Tasted next to 2015. Less fruit, more structure - bright acidity, slightly drying tannins, but not lean. Good balance, overall a bit simple, but well made. 87-89

November 3, 2017 - This bottle rather better than the last

October 10, 2017 - Some interest in the sour cherry and red fruit on the palate, but overshadowed by an unappealing astringency.

September 26, 2017 - With up-front red cherry and plum fruit, this deep ruby wine is easy to drink. Medium-to-full-bodied, fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (13.5%) and with sweet tannins, it adds notes of black olives, smoke and pipe tobacco on both the nose and palate. Nicely dense in the middle, softly oaked and closing with a graceful, medium-length finish, this is a rousing success considering the vintage. Drink now-2025.
