April 3, 2022 - Some hints of orange at the rim. Stuffed nose so can’t tell the bouquet The best yet for this wine and the best we have had in many years of drinking wine, including a beautiful spottswoode 2015 that we drank the night before. Full bodied lots of black fruit and some minerality. Not the typical fruit bomb from Napa but more underlying the minerality rather than up front in your face. Layers of taste as it crossed the pallet to a finished that seemed to go on forever
One hour decant and started opening up with 15 minutes in the glass drink now or over the next few years.
Paid $325 for 3 of these and will buy more. Wow!! -

March 12, 2022 - Bold aromas of violets, black cherry, crushed rocks and licorice. Black currant, plum and graphite on the palate. Silky tannins and a 30-second finish. One of the best bottles of Futo I’ve ever had.

January 29, 2021 - Opened for 30 min, double decanted for one hour and placed back in the bottle to consumed one hour later, so it was about 2.5 hour in air-contact.
Dark red/ruby color, bold body, nose of herbs, some grass coming from the Cab franc, and sharp earthy perfumes. The palate is complex, balance, very pleasant with a hint of a nicely integrated oak.
This is one of those big-bold Napa Cab that calls for a nice steak or strong cheeses. Great wine now and better days ahead...

November 21, 2020 - Repeating notes from a couple of years ago with adjusted decant and drinking window.
Fabulous deep rich and dark juice. Asphalt nose with a blueberry hint. Sweet fruit initial flavor of pure blackberry. Lingering tannin tells me this is built to age. I have had this decanted for 4 hours. These wines are ready now and can go another 10 years. -

October 23, 2020 - Purple to a cherry rim. Huge upfront black fruits with some minerality. Initial some grainy tannins finishing very long. With lamb and an hour decant. Lush fruit bomb with no noticeable tannins and a very long finish
Second bottle of this wine the first I considered the best I have had, ahead of 2007 and 2010 spottswoode as well as 2013 beau vigne reserve all rated 100 by Parker
This will last at least another 3 to 6 years but with a 2 hour decant no need to wait
