September 12, 2020 - Fantastic wine and drinks great with food or without food. Dark black look to it with lots of blackberry and tobacco flavors. Finish was very long and truly and enjoyable experience. Over the evening, detected a bit of chocolate taste to it. Delicious.

August 23, 2020 - Superb Napa cab with 2 hours of air. Cocoa, charcoal, graphite, black currant notes. Immediately on opening had a little vegetal green pepper that blew off in 20 minutes. Definitely meditation wine to be enjoyed over a few hours.

August 14, 2020 - From a magnum. A tremendous showing, a spot-on, full-throttle, luscious Napa giant in very fine form. Powerful black and blue fruit, some smoke and peppery graphite. What a treat.

June 6, 2020 - This isn't a big Napa fruit bomb--it's a really tasty wine made in the Bordeaux style. Definitely needs to decant for at least an hour or two. I bought this magnum six years ago and was glad I waited. There's still a lot of life in this Materium. Cheers!

May 31, 2020 - Not bad, but the texture was a little grainy. This bottle would have merited a strong score if it possessed the silky texture mentioned by others. Purchased recently in the secondary market from a reputable dealer, but of course that’s no guarantee. The cork was intact but did break on the way out. Anyway, I’d recommend an hour decant if you have (or buy) a bottle.
