June 9, 2023 - Wow this was excellent. This is a solid 94 with some quality years still ahead. Light raspberries sitting on top of dark chocolate, silky smooth. Wish I had more.

January 2, 2022 - I tasted the 2012 Ramey Cabernet followed by the 2010 Ramey Cabernet. Robert Parker rates the 2012 Ramey higher, but the 2010 with more longevity. I think the 2010 beats the 2012 on both counts. Both are quite good and score in the 90's. Both are well-balanced in every respect. But the 2012 is less opulent and energetic than the 2010. It is less alive and more of a museum piece then the 2010. Enough said. If you have either one you will be satisfied.

November 28, 2020 - First Ramey to ever disappoint. Mild taste of eucalyptus is distracting.

April 22, 2020 - A little disappointing considering I loved the previous 2010 we opened (and also their excellent 2007 and 2013 vintages).

A little flat, in terms of body and taste. Would not expect it to have passed its drinking window but I don’t honestly know.

July 22, 2019 - Paired with filets. Still quite young and tannic. A good dose of black fruit and pepper in balance. I don't know the source of fruit but reminded me of Spring Mountain.

February 4, 2019 - Tremendous Napa Cab. Rich, big and velvety. Sadly only one left after this.

July 29, 2018 - This is a beautiful and structured wine built for the long haul. A rare 100% Cabernet Sauvignon for this bottling, Upon opening, aromas and flavors of creamy cassis and blackberry fruit emerge first. With some time in the glass it opened up to a very earthy mushroom component before evolving to abundant ripe blackberry fruit with black cherry, tobacco, cedar, blueberry and cassis with a firm structure and well integrated tannins. With all of these nuances in place, I still get the sense that it’s true potential lies well beyond today’s date. Another 10 years of prime drink ability at least, but it’s delicous now. Structure 95pts, enjoyability 94pts.

May 21, 2016 - Uncorked and let sit in the decanter for 1 hour. Consumed from a Waterford Marquis stem. Beautiful and expressive nose of blackberry, caramel, whipped cream, menthol, and cassis. Intoxicating scents. Medium body on the palate with characteristic CS flavor. Nice easy drinking wine with well integrated tannin. Paired with a NY strip with roasted garlic and Lions Mane mushroom. Just lacked that sumptuous aftertaste that you get from a Bond or Lokoya that would have pushed it up a point or two. Would like to try the Pedregal offering for comparison ... Excellent wine !

April 27, 2016 - Big, fruit forward Napa Cab with a great currant nose, wonderful on the palate, and super smooth finish. Decanted for an hour. Probably my favorite 'value' 2010 Napa Cab. Grab some. Highly recommended.
