April 6, 2024 - VINTAGE 2010 Dinner (Galletto Ristorante, Modesto Ca.): The most massive, loaded to the gills, SE I've ever had! Absolute perfection. The fruit is dark liqueuered berry, cassis...with mocha, leather, barrel smoke...wonderful graphite and licorice dryness...exotic dusty spices. Although massive, it still possesses a seamless plushness to the wine...a perfect balance...that classic SE finesse...SO much complexity and mind blowing joy! And scary to think it might even get better? Best SE I've ever had.

February 28, 2024 - Three decades of Screaming Eagle: Ah how I love these very well made wines from cooler Napa vintages. Cool fruit, black berries, great length and depth with this particular napa fruit sexiness

August 27, 2023 - This was more concentrated and darker than the ‘08 we had last year (96/100). Deep dark crimson blackberry and blueberry fruit with a tannic spline. Super balanced and smooth. Still primary. A beautiful baby monster. Very classy but while this scores highly on its ability to manage the extreme concentration with balance it either needs years for more complexity to emerge or this style is not quite as exotic or complex as some other high end Cabs I have had. 96-97 some alcoholic heat marred the finish.

April 30, 2022 - Biggest, most powerful, intense Screaming Eagle I have ever had, deep, dark rich fruit, blackberries, blueberry, chocolate, incredibly youthful and unevolved, will take decades to develop secondary characteristics, I am sure this will be rated higher as it ages, a wine for the ages, I think in 10-20 years we will be placing this wine in a rare group with the 69 Chappellet, 74 Heitz and 92 Monte Bello. I will put my last bottle in my will for my son with certain stipulations, since I won't be around when it reaches a peak in another 40-50years.

March 20, 2022 - One of a kind! First time and maybe also the last…They’re so hard to find (especially in Belgium).
