April 23, 2024 - Somewhat muted nose that I am not sure will improve. Dark sweet fruit with a strong tannic background that lacked integration with the fruit on night one. However, went well with red meat. Kept on Argon gas and was much more approachable/evolved on night 2. Solid finish! Perhaps give it another 5 years but...
March 30, 2024 - Decanted two hours before pairing with oven-braised beef chuck stew. A dark ruby cloak, the nose beckons with both red and black berries, cassis, RC Cola, tobbaco, medium dark chocolate, and orange rind on the finish. I'm finding this RC Cola note quite common with these Tor Kenward cabernet sauvignon wines. Great balance - weightless - with ample acidity. This paired wonderfully and should last a good while longer.
July 28, 2023 - Coravin by the glass. Chocolate covered cherries, currant, cedar and spice aromas and flavors. Nice depth and good persistence. Full bodied. Served with grilled portobello mushroom and provolone burgers.
September 7, 2022 - A very nice bottle that required a long decant (over 3 hours) to have an initial sharp tannic note on the finish melt away. Dark berry fruit with beautiful mid-weight body and some talc texture. Nice balance. Aging well.
August 29, 2022 - Damn my last and best bottle. This is a gorgeous middle aged lady, my Ms Robinson. Delicious and better than she was in her youth.
June 10, 2022 - Decanted for 10 minutes and start consuming 2 hours later.
The wine has a bite at first, a little tannic and tart, but the mid palate is too soft and smooth, no character at all and short finish. Disappointing at this price point.
December 26, 2021 - Concentrated. Nice balance.
December 4, 2021 - Really hitting it stride - this a more rich, balanced wine than when I sampled in 2014.
September 9, 2021 - Popped and poured. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, currant, chocolate and spice. Black and red fruit, chocolate and spice flavors. Long fruit-driven finish. Full bodied. Served with grilled Waygu and Gruyère cheese burgers.
January 27, 2021 - in a solid drinking window
